Jolfa County is located in the northwest of Azerbaijan Province between Marand, Ahar, Maku, and Kaleybar. Aras River located in Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia’s borders, passes north of the county. The center of this County is a border town named Jolfa located 150 km far from Tabriz. Its weather is special. It has sunny summers and mild winters. Due to its high mountains, the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean winds could not penetrate so it rarely rain and has low vegetation.
