Quri Gol River of Tabriz

Quri Gol wetland is located 45km far from south of Tabriz and 17 km far from northwest of Boston Abad in Tehran-Tabriz Road. The triangle-shaped river area is 240 Hectare and is surrounded by top downhills. It is a good living place for migrant birds and due to its low distance from cities, considered one of the best places to visit. People usually enjoy their free time on holidays wandering in green lands aside the lake. Quri Gol is registered as an international wetland due to its natural features.

Aji Chay River of Tabriz

Aji River or Aji Chay or Talkhe River is located 10 km far from north of Tabriz in Eynali valley. Its area is about 8547 square kilometer.
Aji Chay is the most important river in Tabriz. Tabriz contains seven rivers in its northern plains; Daryan, Shabestar, Sis, Sufian, Sinasakh, Gonbat, and Baba Baqi. Gonbat and Baba Baqi join Aji chay and the rest joins Urmia Lake.

Liqvanchay River of Tabriz

Liqvan River (Liqvan Chay) originated from north hillsides of Sahand mount. Different rivers join from eastern and western parts of hills and make a river.
The river runs from south to north and waters Liqvan’s downlands. It is located in a deeper valley in compare with Liqvan village. The river water is cool, tasty and is trout’s living place.

Kandovan Mineral Spring

Kandovan historical village is located 22 km far from south of Osko in the middle of a nice valley and beside Kandovan River. Kandovan Village is 62km far from Tabriz. It has a famous mineral spring named Kandovan.
Kandovan Mineral Spring seeps through the ground in a place. Freshwater of this spring is useful for kidney diseases. So people from all around the world came for healing and using this mineral spring or they buy its water from Tabriz stores.
About 4, 5 km after Sufian City, to Marand, in the west heights of the road, beside a hill soda water bubbling up from the ground and extend in two sides of hills. The big one makes a natural basin.
The water of the spring is low and absorb to the ground in the hillsides. Its water is hypochloremia, bicarbonate and sulfated which has 73, 5-gram sodium in a liter. The taste of the water is so salty, its temperature is 16 Celsius and its height is 1460 meter.

Sahand Mountains of Azerbaijan

Sahand volcanic mountain is located 50 km far from south of Tabriz. Hashtrud, Saraskand, and Qarechaman are located in its eastern part. It also extends to Qoflankuh. Sahand is one of the highest and famous extinct volcanoes which its volcanic eruption had added to its height.
Sahand’s highest mountain is Jam Daqi with 3750-meter height. It has lots of Porphyry Mountains, seventeen of them reaches more than 3000-meter height. Sahand mountains are visible from Tabriz, they are more than 3200 meters (some of them are Sultan Daqi in west and Karim Qaqi in east). These mountains absorb the moisture of its surrounding so they are covered with snow most of the times even in July. Sometimes the snow remains on their north parts or foothills from one year to another.
Sahand is called bride of Iran Mountains due to its pastures, plants, flowers, and gardens. Sahand is such a unique flower field in spring.

Morodaq Mountain in Azerbaijan

It is located 36 km far from Tabriz and extended in an east-west way from north of Soofian Heights to Tabriz. This mountain extended through Payan Mountain in the north of Tabriz and ended in Shebeli Mountain. The highest part of Morodaq is 2210 meters and its famous mounts are Chele Khaneh, Pir Moosa, Khaje Marjan.

Liqvan Valley of Tabriz

liqvan mountainous village is located in the southeast of Tabriz and Sahand foothill. The eastern part of the village is near an eye-catching valley from which Liqvan River has flowed.

Municipality Palace of Tabriz

This palace was built in destroyed Koye Nobar cemetery by German architectures in 1312. It has a four-sided clock tower which strikes every fifteen minutes. Its outside structure is made by carved rocks. The design of the palace is like German buildings before World War II. It is located in clock square in the center of Tabriz County and all reconstructive and official activities had been done in this building nowadays.

Heidarzade house in Tabriz

This beautiful house has been located behind the mayoralty near Ali Shah Arg in Heidarzade st. it is Tourism information base of Tabriz. This two-story house belongs to Mr. Heidarzade, one of the great carpet merchants in Qajar era (more than 100 years ago). It has two basements, interior and exterior yards, an old reservoir, beautiful pillars and capitals, ornaments, wooden and stained glass windows. There is also a pool in the second basement of the house.

Panbe Shalvar Cemetery

Panbe Shalvar village is 6km far from southeast part of Tabriz. This village has a big and historical cemetery with huge tombstones and bar. The cemetery is placed on a hillside of a big hill and has three graveyards in its corners. There are lots of cases and sapphire rocks on the graves of this cemetery. On top of the graves, some cylindrical epitaphs with cone-shaped tops and natural carved cylindrical stones with turban shaped tops were placed. The name of each deceased is carved in Kufi and Sols styles. Some of the great scientists, mystics, and sheikhs such as Baba Khaje one of the Shadabad’s Sheikhs, Sadodin Shadabadi clergyman of Sheikh Mohammad, Sultan Oveis; the second king of Jalairid Sutanate who ruled Iraq and Azerbaijan for 73 years and died because of Vaba diseased, had been buried there. Sultan Oveis’ grave tombstone is entirely made from a well-designed adamant rock which has 2-meter length and 0.5-meter height. There is a big statue in front of the entrance door which is being considered as a decorative statue in sultan’s cemetery and cylindrical tombstones also relate to the phallic symbol.
