Shirvan and Chardavol County

This county is among Ilam historical cities which belonged to the Sasanid Empire. Some of the monuments which are remained belonged to Sarab Kalan and Holeylan which are the historical castle, Sam Fire Temple, Tobreh Riz Hill (Sepa or Lolor Hill) and 160 hill and monuments orderly.
Shirvan was located in the north of Seymareh River and so many plaster and rocky monuments had been found there which belonged to Sasanian Empire.

Chamangir Mount of Shirvan in Ilam Province

Chamangir Mount is located in Shiravan and 22 kilometers far from southeast of Ilam. It is 2578 meter high. Garab and Chardavol originated from this Mount. The mount connected to Sivan from its southeast and to Qelarang Mount from its northwest. It is one of Kabirkuh Mounts which is one of Zagros Mounts.

Malinjeh Mount of Chardavol

Malinjeh Mount is located 34 km far from northeast of Ilam and is 2193 meters high. Abchika River originated from this mount.

Banhar Mount of Chardavol in Ilam

Banhar Mount is located in Chardoval District, and 28 km far from northeast of Ilam County. It is 1820 meter high. It is connected from the southeast part and to Chenarch River from the west part.

Tangqir Village

It is located in the center of Shirvan and Chardavol County of Ilam. It has mild and dry weather.

Chenarj River passes its east. Khoram Mount is located in southwest and Ban-e Hezar Mount in the northeast of the village. Mansuri Strait is located in the northeast of the village. The mountains, rivers, Mansuri Strait, medicinal plants, wildlife are the village natural tourist attraction.

Holeylan Rural District of Shirvan and Chardavol County has eight historical hills belonged to different periods through history. Some of them had been registered and researched.

Sam Castle of Shirvan and Chardavol

Sam Castle is located in Chambur Village, in Shirvan and Chardavol County. It belonged to the Sasanid Dynasty which was built on one of the surrounded mounts of Chambur Village, named Sam. This castle has two towers in the north and northwest which are 12 meters high. A room was built for watching and protecting the commanders. There are remains of fire temple in the southwest of the castle which became mosque during Arabs Dynasty.
Beside the castle are some 500-year-old plane trees. There are also some springs and roots of a tree named Ud or Hiumeh used for ceremonies.

Kazabad Hills of Chardavol

These hills are located in Holeylan Village in the northeast of Shirvan and Chardavol. It has two, big and small, hills. In the east of the big Hill, some broken painted potteries which belonged to three thousand years ago and some carved stones had been found.
In the north of the big hill, is a grand cemetery from which some potteries, antique subjects had been found. There were some objects in the potteries. There are lots of women graves which have lots of belts, glass necklace with copper rings, and bracelet in the potteries.

Moreover, there are some teapot shape, colored and colorless potteries, graves of men and children and four dead bodies buried in a rectangle and square shape.
Other kinds of graves have located there which their bones were put in potteries and buried. The people buried there were poor so no valuable objects have been found.

Pelekan Cemetery of Chardavol

This cemetery is located in Holeylan Rural District of Shirvan Chardavol County. It is destroyed by antique smugglers nowadays.
There are different scattered graves in the Cemetery some of which are still empty. Heleylan people said that antique smugglers came to this cemetery from Simereh River, dug the graves, robbed the antique materials, sent and sold them to Kermanshah and Harsin. So the structure has been destroyed a lot.
