Tufarqan Chay River in Azerbaijan

 

Tufarqan River or Tufarqan Chay originated from western part of Sahand Mountains (from 3000meter heights), different springs of Hargalan and Ganbar heights. Watering near villages, it passes south of Azarshah.
Tufarqan River joins Urmia Lake after passing Azarshahr, Gugan and Teimoorloo village. Its length is about 56 km and its path is from east to west. An old and two new bridges have been built on this river in Tabriz-Maraqeh Road.

This mount is located in the northwest of Azerbaijan and east of Hadi Shahr. Its highest peak reaches 3347 meters. Good weather, enough rainfall, green pastures considered as great factors for settling on its foothill and valleys.

liqvan mountainous village is located in the southeast of Tabriz and Sahand foothill. The eastern part of the village is near an eye-catching valley from which Liqvan River has flowed.
