Seyyed Akabar Dehloran Imamzadeh

It is located 10 km far from Dehloran Village. People believed that he is Musa al-Kadhim’s son who came with Fatima al-Sughra to visit Imam Reza from Iraq to Iran and got sick in Dehloran and buried there.
It is said that Salahodin Mohammad who is buried in Abdanan is Imamzadeh Seyyed Akbar’s brother.

Chehel Sotoun of Isfahan

Chehel Sotoun of Isfahan

Chehel Sotoun is one of the historical structures of Isfahan. Its area is about 67000 square meter and was built in Shah Abbas I Dynasty. There is a building in the middle of the structure.
This building and the garden contains the middle gallery of Chehel Sotoun and its four corner rooms. This structure has twenty pillars but their specular reflection on water popularize them as Chehel (=forty) Sotoun (= pillar).
There are lots of beautiful paintings on the ceiling and galleries.
There are also some eye-catching miniature paintings, mirror works, stucco works, Naskh calligraphy inscriptions on walls and ceiling.

Chehel Sotoun paintings

Chehel Sottoun Paintings present Iran architecture, design and decoration.
None of the paintings have signature or date except middle painting of the main gallery, Sadeq Naqqash Bashi as “Ya Sadeqalvad”, and a date,1216 AH, in Qajar Dynasty.
Chehel Sotoun is being divided into four categories according to its paintings, which are;
1. Historical scenes of the relationship between the Safavid Dynasty and its eastern neighbors in Baram Gallery.
2. Scenes of the ceremonies and hunting on the upper hallway of the gallery.
3. Scenes of royal ceremonies, in Ghazal and literature concepts, hanged on two side room shelves.
4. Scenes of foreigners in Safavid Crown on side columned galleries.

Fin Garden of Kashan

Kashan Fin Garden is the most prominent and beautiful Garden ever. Fin Bath is also located in this garden. This garden belonged to the Safavid Dynasty. Its area is more than 23 thousand square meter and has a central yard which is surrounded by walls and towers.
Fin Garden and its whole structures in Kashan, had been registered in Iran national Heritage list (No. 238).
This garden is located 9 km far from Kashan and at the end of a street named Amir Kabir St nowadays and Fin Village in the past.

Sarab city

Sarab City

Sarab was residential from old times. Urartu inscription, historical hills, and rocky temples around this city are evidence of its antiquity. In Urartu Empire, Sarab was a civilized city. Some researches believed that the scattered graves around the city belong to many years before the inscriptions.

What has remained from Urartu Empire indicates the antiquity of this district to 730-685 BC. Raz Liq epitaph, which was read by a German archaeologist in 1971, was written in Cuneiform and belonged to Argishti II son of Rusa I. Neshtaban epitaph is written in 8th BC about conquests of Urartu.
Although civilized centers of old times would not usually be repaired or renewed after destruction, Sarab several centuries after Urartu destruction was still prosperous in Parthia Dynasty. Earthen and other antique monuments which has been found is evidence of its antiquity.
Some other monuments like rocky temples belonged to Sasanian Empire had been found and indicates the antiquity of the city.
After Islam emergence in Iran and Azerbaijan, Sarab has got its own fame for its public transport and fertile soil. According to what historian just declared Babak Khoramdin met Shabali Ibn Mosana Azdi and also Amir and Hasoodan war against Qazan took place in the city.
Sarab city was the center of Mongol government. It is written that Soltan Ahmad Takudar, who turned to Islam and Arqut Khan and Mongol commanders were after him run to Sarab. He was arrested and killed by Arqun Command in 683 AH.
After Soltan Ahmad Takudar was defeated, Arqun Khan Mongol organized Mongol Council in 683 AH.
Sarab was also important during Chupanian dynasty and was governed by Jani Beig Khan son of Joji Khan who was killed in 758 AH in this city.
Early in Safavid dynasty, Tabriz and Ardebil was among important cities. Sarab’s connection to these two important cities and its strategic position make it an important city. After Shah Ismail Safavid was defeated in Chaldoran war run to Sarab and died there in 930 AH.
The war between Shah Ismail and Kholi Pasha took place in Sarab and cause lots of destruction.but Shah Abbas defeated Ottoman Empire in this city.
In 1205 AH, Hossein Khan Donboli fought against Sadeq khan Shaqayeqi in this city and after Sadeq Khan run Hossein Khan has looted and burned Sarab.

In 1205 AH, Hossein Khan Donboli fought against Sadeq khan Shaqayeqi in the city and after Sadeq Khan’s escape, Hossein Khan has looted and burned Sarab. Sadeq Khan Shaqayeqi was defeated by Qajar Fath Ali Shah and retreat to Sarab and after returning Aqa Mohammad Khan’s jewelry to Fath Ali Shah, he has been forgiven and charged as Sarab ruler.
Sarab geographical and economic position among other cities leads to regrow after each looting or war.

Hashtrud County

Hashtrud County

This county is located in the southeast of Tabriz and Hashtrud city is its center. Azaran is its former name and Sar Iskandar was its latter name.
Eight important rivers run in the district; Qaranqu, Aydu Qamush, Aji Chay, Qale Chay, Quri Chay, Ajir Chay, Qare Qie and Leylan Chay. Sahand Mount extended to the west of Hashtrud County. Hashtrud weather is changeable, it is cloudy and cold in its west part due to Sahand Mount and milder in its central part. What has been retained from Zahak Castle is located there. Some earthen had been found in the castle which belonged to 2nd millennium BC. This castle may be used in Ismaili era.

East Azerbaijan Wetlands

Azerbaijan has lots of big and small wetlands which are mostly concentrated in Maraqeh and Hashtrud. Here are some of them;
Alma Goli Wetland
This wetland is located in southeast heights (2400 meter) of Sahand Mount, located in the southwest of Abad. Its area is about 20 Hectare and full of canebrake Aquatic Plants. it is living place of so many birds like Mallards and Coots. These natural features enhance wetland’s tourist attractions.
Qobadlo Wetland
This wetland is located 22 km far from northwest of Ajabshir, further than Rahmanlo Port. It attracts some kind of birds from Urmia Lake.
Yaniq Goli Wetland
It is located 31 km far from southwest of Hashtrud. Wild birds migrate there in fall and winter.
Bezujaq Goli Wetland
This wetland is located 31km far from west of Hashtrud. It is the living place of many migrant birds.
Qushagoli Wetland
This canebrake wetland is located 31 km far from west of Hashtrud.
Zu ol Bin Goli Wetland
This seasonal wetland is located 42km far from west of Hahtrud and it is a good shelter for migrant birds because of its canebrakes.
Yusuflo Wetland
This wetland is located 33km far from east of Ahar. It is living place of so many migrant birds.
Dipsiz Wetland
This wetland is located 25 km far from east of Ahar. Its canebrakes make a good situation for migrants birds.
Khormalo Wetland
This permanent wetland is located 42km far from southwest of Ahar. It is living place of migrant birds and used for agricultural purposes.
Moreover, East Azerbaijan has other wetlands which are not going to be mentioned here.
