Hasht Behesht or “Eight Paradise” Palace

Hasht Behesht, meaning “Eight Paradise” Palace.

This palace was once considered the most beautiful palaces of the world. It was built in 1080 AH, Shah Soleyman from Safavid Dynasty and near Bolbol Garden.
It is an octagon shape building with four views, each of them is different from the other. It seems that the north view is the main but the existence of pool in eastern part determines the main view.
There is an octagon marble pool in the middle of Palace gallery which is called Morvarid (= pearl) Pool. The name of the pool is derived from its special architecture which had been carved in a way that water runs from its holes like pearls.
The grand garden on which this building is located is a part of Naqsh-e Jahaan big Garden, it was built by Shah Ismail I and was divided into different parts in Shah Abbas I Dynasty.
This structure is located on Chahar Baq Abbasi and Sheikh Bahai St.

Ālī Qāpū Palace

Ālī Qāpū Palace

Ālī Qāpū palace is an example of Safavid era architecture which was built in 11th Century AH by Shah Abbas I.
Shah Abbas pass his whole life in this grant palace and also official and important meetings of his kingdom took place there. He watched ambassadors of other countries, their army, gifts, offers, polo sport, and etc from the T shape gallery.
It has five floors with special trimmings for each.
This structure is located in the center of Isfahan, in Naqsh-e Jahan Square.

Inside Ālī Qāpū Palace
The last floor of the palace is called Vasiqi or Sot which is the building most interesting part. It has lots of paintings and stucco works in cup and baluster shape on its walls. They are put on walls to reflect the voice and sound of singers and musical instruments truly and naturally.
The top floor of this palace has the best overlook of Isfahan especially the beautiful Naqsh-e Jahan Square is apparent from there.

Khaju Bridge

Khaju Bridge

This bridge is located on Zayandehrud River of Isfahan.
It was built in 1060AH by Shah Abbas II. In the middle of this bridge is a building called Bigarbeyki which was built for Safavid king and his family residence. This building is still located there. In fact, Khju got its popularity from its architecture and tile work.
The bridge is 133 meters long and 12 meters wide.
Its name was Shahi Bridge early in Safavid Empire and changed to Khaju Bridge later.

Joubi Bridge also called Choobi Bridge is located on Zayanderud River of Isfahan. This bridge is the way to Haftdast and Aineh Khane Castles. Its name Joubi (=River) is derived from the river which runs on this bridge. The bridge length is about 147 meters and is located between Allahverdi and Khaju River. The bridge was built in 1605 AH by Abbas I command.
It is also called Pol Daryache (= lake) because of the small lake which is shaped in its western part. It is also called Saadatabad. This bridge is now located in Kamal Ismail St.

Shahrestan Bridge in Isfahan

Shahrestan Bridge Ji Bridge or Jasar Hossein Bridge is the oldest bridge of Zayanderud which was located 4 km far from east of Isfahan beside International Exhibition but it is located in the town now.
It has been estimated that this bridge was built in the Sasanian Empire and renovated in Deylamian and Seljuq Period.
The bases of the bridge pillars are located on natural rocks of the River.
The bridge length, from brick pillar to end of old asphalt, is 105 meters, its width is 5 meter and has eleven springs and twelve big rocky pillars.
The top of the bridge is eroded and visitors just can walk on it.
This structure was registered in the National Heritage list of Iran (No 889) in 1/1/1969.

Shah Mosque (Royal Mosque or Imam Mosque)

It was built in the Safavid Empire and is also known as Sotani or Jame Abbasi Mosque. This mosque is located in Naghsh-e Jahan Square and considered as one of the best mosques of Iran due to its unique architecture. This structure is the idle of one thousand year architecture in Iran.
This masterpiece has been registered in the National Heritage list of Iran and is a great example of Iran architecture, tile work in 11th Centuries AH.
The mosque dome height is about 52 meter, its minarets height are about 48 meters and the height of its entrance minarets in Naqsh-e Jahan Square is about 42 meters. Enekas Masque (Echo Mosque) is in the center of the south dome.
It also has big integrated marble stone, old and precious.

Jameh Mosque of Isfahan

Jameh Mosque of Isfahan has different altars. Its famous altar has been located in the northern part of its west gallery and was built in the bedchamber of the mosque (designed for sleeping or nocturnal prayers) by Oljiato.
This bedchamber is also known as Oljiato Masque and has an altar which is so famous and an example of Iranian art and talent. Oljiato was the name of Sultan Mohammad Khodabande, who chose this name; “Khodabande” after he had converted to Islam. On the famous altar of the mosque, the name of Khodabande and his scientist minister, Mohammad Savi, and the year it had been built, 710 AH, is carved.
The bedchamber belonged to Mozaffari Dynasty. The altar is considered as one of the masterpieces in stucco work of Iran. It is trimmed with a beautiful inscription, different vegetable paintings and etc.

Atigh Jame’ Mosque

Atigh Jame’ Mosque

Atigh Jame’ Mosque is one of the biggest, oldest, most mysterious and most important structures of the Muslim World. It is located in the northeast of Isfahan and beside Atigh Square and is registered in National Heritage list of Iran.
This masque is an example of Iran architecture in different eras such as Deylamian, Seljuq, Safavid, and Qajar Dynasty. Its area is about 22000 square meters. It absolutely is a collection of different kinds of art and efforts of different unknown architects remained from more than one thousand years ago.

Kohneh Square

Kohneh Square

Atiq Square, Atigh Square, Kohneh Square or Old Square is a square in the center of Isfahan. Including Main Square, around Bazaars, a mosque in its northern part, Ali Masque in southern, Haroone velayat complex, and multi-storey car park, a Trapezoid platform which connects Isfahan Jame Masque to Harunieh from one side and Kassegaran School and Isfahan Bazaar from the other side, it is among the biggest historical squares of Iran.
